Chargers vs. Chiefs (Week 7)

After two straight losses, the San Diego Chargers find themselves way behind in the AFC West division. They look to avoid hitting rock bottom against the Kansas City Chiefs (1-5) on Sunday. The Chargers (2-3) hoped a bye week would help them fix their defensive struggles that led to a 38-28 loss at Pittsburgh on October 4, but the stumbling Bolts had another terrible game against the undefeated Broncos in a 34-23 loss on Monday night. San Diego won their last four games of the season last year and managed to win it’s third straight AFC West championship with a 8-8 record. But the Bolts can not record a .500 record and expect to make the postseason this year since Denver (6-0) are in first place in the division and the Chargers are closer to last-place Kansas City (1-5). Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers told the press “I know it doesn’t look good right now but we can still bounce back.” In 2008-09, the Chargers only one by one point in both of their contests against the Chiefs, which went 2-14. KC ended  a nine game losing streak last Sunday with a 14-6 victory over the Washington Redskins. The Chiefs’ next challenge is to avoid a third consecutive home loss to the Chargers, something that has not happened since 1979-81.
