Larry English has posted a piece of his diary on chargers.com. Last Friday’s entry states that he got a chance to throw out the first ceremonial pitch at Petco Park. He said, “I was a little nervous, but I got to warm up a little with Padres outfielder Will Venable before the big moment. I got loose and delivered a strike. I stayed for the game and had a lot of Chargers fans introduce themselves. Everybody had nice things to say to me and I appreciated the kind words from the fans.” The linebacker also talked about what’s going on at Chargers camp. He said the Chargers wrapped up off-season coaching sessions last week and thing are going well for him. English feels confident with the team and understands the defense. He continued to say he is ready for training camp and that he stayed in San Diego during that week to see the city and find a place to live. At the moment, the linebacker is living with his teammates at the hotel. On Saturday (6-27-09), English took a trip with seven Chargers to Palm Beach, Florida for the rookie symposium. He said it will be great to catch up with Robert Ayers from the Broncos and Kyle Moore from the Buccaneers. He met both players at the Combine, and got to know them well.
