Chargers Already Looking To Opener

August 29, 2008

The San Diego Chargers are gearing up for their last preseason game today against the San Francisco 49ers, and the Chargers are using it to get other players a chance on the field.  Their starters will not being seeing much playing time in order to keep them healthy for the season opener on September 7 against the Carolina Panthers.  Left guard Kris Deilman is one of the players expecting to sit for most of the game and told the Associated Press, “I think we will play about 10 plays. Go score a touchdown, then get out of there.”

The Chargers have won two out of three of their preseason games so far, as have the 49ers. The Chargers beat Dallas in the first week 31-17, lost to St. Louis in the second 7-6 and narrowly beat Seattle in the third 18-17.  The 49ers started out the preseason with a 18-6 loss to Oakland, but came back to beat Green Bay 34-6 and Chicago 37-30.  Both teams are facing their fair share of struggles this season. The 49ers are still grappling with quarterback issues while the Chargers are fighting a tougher opponent: injuries.  Catch the team in action this season by getting San Diego Chargers tickets from StubHub.com.
