Why the love for Phillip Rivers? Well, it’s hard not to be friendly toward a guy who’s so friendly.
As Alex Marvez reports on Fox Sports, Rivers has “blossomed” in the past two seasons, becoming an integral part of the team by encouraging the other players, whether they’re having a tough time, recovering from an injury or just passing him in the hall. Marvez quotes a source who points out that it’s not very typical to see a quarterback act that way. Many of them let ego get in the way, and don’t talk to anyone ever. But Rivers isĀ just a nice guy, and certainly a welcome member of the team.
It hasn’t always been that way. For a while, Rivers was known for talking–but not in a positive way. It’s an interesting feature article. Read it here.
